The EuroGeographics INSPIRE Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN),  the European Environment Agency, the INSPIRE Thematic Cluster on Land Cover and Land Use and EuroSDR are organising a workshop in autumn 2017 in Brussels to discuss the influence of INSPIRE on the evolution of land cover and existing land use data products. The workshop will be arranged in conjunction to a Copernicus event in mid-November.

Currently, many existing products merge Land Cover and existing Land Use information in a single data set and even in a single classification whereas in the INSPIRE Directive, Land Cover and Land Use are in two separate themes. The objective of the workshop is to better understand, by sharing our experiences and questions, how the INSPIRE Directive and data specifications are going to influence the evolution of the European and national or local Land Cover – Existing Land Use  data.

If you have any experiences or on-going project on this topic and if you are interested to share it with others, please could you submit a short abstract (title, presenter name + a few sentences to describe the planned content of the presentation). The abstracts should be sent, ideally before 02/07/2017, to Lena Hallin-Pihlatie  (lena.hallin-pihlatie@environment.fi).
