ELFIE - Environmental Linked Features Interoperability Experiment

Dear all,

on May 2nd the OGC has initiated the ELFIE - Environmental Linked Features Interoperability Experiment, in order to explore how to provide cross-links between domain features and observational data. This topic is of great relevance to the use of O&M in INSPIRE, thus participation by INSPIRE players would be valuable to assure that our requirements are covered. First step will be defining Use Cases, so please start thinking!

The kickoff meeting (call) will be on Thursday May 25th at 12 noon CEST (unfortunately a holiday in most of Europe), with a 2nd call planned for June 2nd at 8 am CEST at the end of the CSIRO Symposium on Linking Environmental Data and Samples (https://events.csiro.au/Events/2017/January/30/Linking-Environmental-Data-and-Samples). While its clear that the times are a bit difficult for many, its the best that was possible to assure participation from around the globe.

    Dear all,

I presented ELFIE at this mornings MIG-T Meeting, attached the presentation. The main aspects covered are:

    •     Interlinkages between Domain Features and Observations (to my view also between Domain Features and Domain Features)
    •     JSON-LD encoding of features
    •     ReSTful interface for view/access

As this topic is VERY relevant to INSPIRE (basically looking for answers to most of the questions posed within the MIG-T call), once more the request for European input and participation (you don't need to be an OGC member, external observers (participants) are welcome). If you think you have an interesting Use Case or Data, please post!
